Spiritual Christians Molokans lived in Armenia almost 200 years by now

Much is reported about the fate of Russians who remained in the republics of the FSU after the disintegration of the USSR, mostly in a negative context. However, not everywhere are Russian-speakers treated as badly as, for example, in the countries of the Baltics. In Armenia, in the village of Fioletovo, for already almost 2 centuries lived ethnic Russians, who call themselves Spiritual Christians , or (Molokane and Dukh-i-zhizniki). Their ancestors were evicted to Transcaucasia for being sectarians in 1830. [About 175 years in Armenia.] Since then the Spiritual Christians Molokans consider this small place their native land, preserving with great care their culture, customs and the language of their ancestors. The Spiritual Christians Molokans spend their entire free time reading the Holy Scripture, which absolutely is present in each house. Most of them [Bibles] are the American reprints of pre-revolutionary publications, a gift from fellow-believers from the New World.* God and the Bible — that's all that the Spiritual Christians Molokans believe, rejecting church sacraments, icons, crosses, and the rituals of clergymen. They consider that mediators are not necessary in order to contact God.

[* In 1990, the American Dukh-i-zhiznik presbyter, John Kochergen of Kerman, California, raised funds to give a  reprinted pre-revolutinary Bible to about 1/3 of the congregations in the FSU. On a trip to Russia in the 1980s, he was saddened to see so many old-tattered Bibles in use, some with popular Psalm pages torn. He learned that the large Bibles brought from Russia and used in America could be reprinted in Moscow for only US $5, with gold-leaf edging! He wanted to give a new Bible to each congregation and family, if possible. He knew American Dukh-i-zhizniki were not very charitable, but he could get them to buy one book for $15 (very cheap), then gift the other two. Some donations were also collected. His plan worked, and he was able to deliver 100s to most Russian Spiritual Christian congregations and many families. Unfortunately most were missed the first year because there was no directory of congregations or an easy distribution system. Later many were furious that delivery fees were charged for books promised to be freely gifted.]
Spiritual Christians Molokans consider smoking, alcoholism, idleness and eating pork as serious vices. But on the other hand, they consider that doing anything useful is a great honor. Local residents are immediately sympathic to the diligence and benevolence of the Spiritual Christians Molokans. Besides that, the Spiritual Christians Molokans brought with them [to the Caucasus] cultivated farming, like potatoes, carrots, and cabbage. Especially famous is the exclusive Spiritual Christian Molokan dish  sauerkraut. It is prepared for the entire year in enormous 500-liter barrels. The main dishes of the holiday table are noodles [lapsha], tea in samovars and fried beef.
Living in the contained environment of their community, to this day they preserved the Russian spirit and color of the mid-1800s. And nobody is going to leave Fioletovo. The married young men start to grow beards and they cease entertainment so that they can give more time to God and the children. In this they see their destiny. [There are 4 Spiritual Christian congregations in Fioletovo — 1 Molokan, and 3 different Dukh-i-zhiznik.]
